THE
CUSTOMWHEEL DIFFERENCE
Correct
balancing is not just about wheel weights and weight repeatability,
but also about angle repeatability. Custom Wheel utilizes
The HawekaFlange Plate™ system which makes this possible
every time. Cones used on the front of the wheel can have up to
120° inaccuracy, but with a Flange Plate™, angle repeatability
is usually reduced to less than 10°.
Flange Plate™
adaptors are recognized as an essential tool needed by everyone
balancing steel & alloy wheels. Recently Flange Plate™
adaptors have been made mandatory by most
major vehicle manufacturers around the world. The reason
is simple. The Haweka Flange Plate™ adaptors balance wheels
far more accurately than a cone can do by itself, resulting in a
smooth, vibration free drive, just how you expect it.
To get a smooth
vibration free drive, the wheel must be centered & torqued onto
the balancer, just the same way it will be centered & torqued
onto the vehicle! That's it - it's truly that simple! But that is
only possible when using Flange Plate™ adaptors!
The Flange
Plate™ is designed in such a way that when the wing nut is
tightened down, each stud on the Flange Plate™ will receive
the identical torque. This ensures that the wheel is sitting absolutely
vertical on the balancer with equal pressure in each lug hole -
just as it will be torqued onto the vehicle. The result is perfect
dynamic balancing results, which also allows the balancer to determine
the exact position of where the wheel weight has to be placed. Since
the Flange Plate™ only touch the wheel in the lug holes, there
is no danger of scratching alloy wheels. In addition, all alloy
wheels that have a nut molded into the wheel design to hold the
center cap, can now be balanced to perfection. A standard back cone
is used to pre-center the wheel on the balancer and the Flange Plate™
is positioned from the front of the wheel with the studs in each
lug hole, the Flange Plate™ does the final centering.

Custom Wheel uses only the finest automotive equipment available, and that is why we use the John Bean BFH 1000 balancing system by Snap On equipment.
 |
The BFH 1000 is the most advanced diagnostic wheel balancing system in the industry.
Designed for power users and high-volume shops, the BFH 1000 boasts the fastest floor-to floor time in the industry, and also provides advanced diagnostics, such
as wheel weight management functionality, behind-spoke weight placement and wheel to
tire matching.
The BFH 1000 offers unparalleled diagnostic information including:
- Improved safety by identifying customers tread conformity issues
- Virtual Plane Imaging (VPI) measurements and laser
imaging captures the profile of the wheel and
compares the information to specifications.
- Six seconds color display showing the location of
any imbalances and identifies the optimal tape weight location.
- Laser radial run out testing which determines
whether the wheel
is in or out of
exact radial (up and down) specifications and tolerance parameters.
- Laser Lateral run out testing which determines
whether the wheel
is in or out of
exact lateral (side to side) specifications and tolerance parameters.
- Automatic Spoke ID which counts the spokes so that
weights can be
placed behind
spokes as needed.
- Advanced diagnostics which will recommend and pinpoint
if further diagnostics are needed as well as identifying the optimal position of the tire
on the rim.
